MICR-MATCHING

MICR-MATCHING & MICR-Matching

What is a MICR?

Magnetic ink character recognition (MICR) is a technology used primarily to identify and process checks. The MICR on a check is the string of characters that appears at the bottom left of the check.

It consists of three groups of numbers, including the bank routing number, the account number, and the check number.

What is MICR-Matching?

Keeping a MICR table to store historical information. When a customer sends in a paper check for the first time, the AR Team applies that payment to associate the MICR information with that customer. When a customer sends in future paper checks, it remembers the MICR information attached to that payment and the associated account.

Paystand does not currently support MICR-matching for SMART Lockbox
